Hello bookworms! I’m Nia and today I’m going to be talking about my favourite hate-to-love ships.
I’ve noticed that everytime I post a T5W I only talk about books, and I want to try to incorporate more movies/TV shows and other stuff apart from books in them so I can have more variety. So in this particular topic I’m going to be talking about three movies with hate-to-love ships I adore and two books!
If you aren’t familiar with Top 5 Wednesday, it is a Goodeads group now currently run by Sam over at ToughtsOfTomes on Youtube, where each week they give you a topic and you talk about 5 books that fit that category. You can join the group here if you want to participate!
Without any further ado, let’s start with this week’s topic!
Anastasia
Anastasia and Dimitri
I’m sorry but this is my favourite ship of all time and I love those characters so incredibly much. They’re both amazing and Anya is such a quircky, badass, intelligent charactet and the chemistry she had with Dimitri was.. wow! Also I believe this movie was one of the first that introduced me to the hate-to-love trope, so… yeah!
A Court of Mist and Fury | Sarah J. Maas
Rhysand and Feyre
Oh… well. I think it was time (ha ha). I’msorrh but Rhysand and Feyre are one of my all time favourite ships and ACOMAF was THE book. If you’ve read it you know what I mean, if you don’t.. GO PICK IT UP AND THANK ME LATER. I loved their interactions so much and how suportive they were to each other. And the things Rhysand’s done and his past.. he deserves so much happiness.
Tangled
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
Ha ha. Another cartoon movie here. But let me tell you this one is one of my favourite Disney movies. I saw it a couple of years ago (yes, I was very late on that train) and the characters were so adorable and funny (I’m talking about those sidekicks too) I couldn’t help but fall in love with the story. Also the graphics were freaking awesome!
Shatter Me | Tahereh Mafi
Juliette and Warner
This is one of the first books I’ve read when I started getting into YA (for the second time) and I loved it SO MUCH. The writing is so lyrical and Juliette’s character development was one of the best ones I’ve read. But also the romance in this book was one of my favourites, maybe because I loved Warner so much or maybe because my best friend had hyped him to me so much I could’t help myself. And their relationship is another trope I can’t seem to get tired of!
10 things I hate about you
Kat and Patrick
Now one thing you need to know about me is that I hate chick flick movies! I don’t like Titanic, Nicholas Sparks’ movies and those things. Buut.. I have a thing for 90s and early 2000 movies. I can’t help it. I see them and get obsessed. And this is one of the movies I adore, and there was a love/hate romance in it, so kudos to that!
Also maybe it had something to do with the fact that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Heath Ledger were in it. Oh, well…
Let me know what are your favourite hate to love ships or a trope you can’t get tired of reading!
