Hello bookworms! I’m Nia and today I’m going to be doing The Newbie book tag.
Now I’m technically not really new when it comes to blogging, since I started this blog back in April, but it’s true I’ve been a bit more contant in the last three months, so when I saw that this tag existed, I wanted to do this as well because I love tags and this sounded like so much fun.
So bear with me a little, and try to think I’m just as new as you could *laughs*.
Without any further ado, let’s start with the tag.
1. WHY DID YOU START THIS BLOG?
Well, it was a random decision I made. I’ve been writing reviews on Goodreads and some other content on Books Amino, and I’ve been thinking about creating my own blog, because that would be a lot easier for me. So I did. And even though at first I didn’t have a schedule, I now find this so relaxing (yes, I know, it’s weird), because I love talking about books and fangirl over new releases.
2.WHAT ARE SOME FUN AND UNIQUE THINGS THAT YOU CAN BRING TO BOOK BLOGGING?
Well, I guess my own opinion over certain topics. I try to be as open as possible when I talk about a book, and write the things I love and hate. And I love recommending things, so there’s that, too.
Also I’m a very creative person so I like to change the aesthetic of my blog quite often. And I really want to mix books with some art in a future post.
3.WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW BLOG?
EVERYTHING. I love making new bookish friends, and I think this is a great platform not only to do that, but to also discover new books you haven’t heard about before.
I’m a very perfectionist person, so I’m excited to see all the goals I’ve set happen, but mostly see my progress from the very beginning until present.
4.WHY DO YOU LOVE READING?
It may sound a bit clique, but reading have helped me so incredibly much, and it appeared right when I needed, so I can’t be more glad about it. I love learning things I didn’t know before, and how I have a wide variety to choose from. It’s a great way to desconnect from reality for a little whilst you discover new worlds and characters.
5.WHAT BOOK OR SERIES GOT YOU INTO READING?
I’d be lying if I said Harry Potter. Yes, I know, quite shocking, right? I read and adored Harry Potter, but those books didn’t get me into reading.
It was Twilight, guys. And after The Mortal Instruments. Those two series were the reason I started reading again (even though I went through an hiatus a few years later). I know they aren’t the best books in the world, but they have an special place in my heart because they were the first ones. And I admit if I read Twilight right now I’d find it problematic and probably wouldn’t love it as much, but I was twelve, and I devoured them.
6.WHAT QUESTIONS WOULD YOU ASK YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?
Oh, man, I’m terrible with these things. I have no idea, but probably I’d love to see how they came with those fantastic ideas for books, or what was their favourite book when they were younger. Or maybe what book got them into reading, that’d be an interesting one.
7.WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU THINK STARTING A BLOG WILL BE THE HARDEST TO OVERCOME?
I think being active while still have creativity. It’s hard to post as much as I do every month, and trying to think about new things that haven’t been seen already. So that’s quite difficult for me, and I think it will be the hardest thing I want to do.
But I’m also a lazy girl, so I find it a bit challenging to sit and write a review or a post.
8.WHEN DID YOU START READING?
I read at school when I was a kid, but for pleassure I would say when I was 11 or 12 years old. Then after a few years I stopped reading (don’t ask me why), and started again a few years after I graduated from high school. I’m still not sure but I believe I was 19 or 20. And here we are now.
9.WHERE DO YOU READ?
My couch and my bed, for sure. Mostly I read on the couch because the lighting is perfect, but there are times where I can’t so I have to read on my bedroom, and the perfect place there is my bed.
And other times where I have to take the train, I read something there. But just when I have nothing else to do.
10.WHAT KIND OF BOOKS DO YOU LIKE TO READ?
Ummm… I love everything YA or NA, but mostly fantasy and mystery/thrillers. I sometimes read contemporary, and I adore magical realism. But I’m not a picky reader: if I like the premise or the cover, I’m probably going to read it.
Let me know in the comments below what first got you into reading and what’s your favourite genre.
Also if you haven’t done this tag but want to… BOOM: I tagged you.
