Hello bookworms! I’m Nia and today I’m going to be talking about my top 5 auto-buy authors.
Yes, I’ve finally joined Top 5 Tuesday! I’ve been wanting to for weeks, but since October was a pretty busy month to me and I was having some problems with my mental health, I decided to push it a bit and join on November. And here we are now! I’m really excited for this month’s topics and to be participating, so my schedule is going to be moving a little bit. Hopefully you won’t mind!
I have a lot of auto-buy authors, but these ones are the first that came to my mind when I thought about it. I’ve read and loved either all of their books or most of them, and so that’s the main reason why they made it to this list.
If you aren’t familiar with Top 5 Tuesday, it is a group here on WordPress now currently run by Shanah over at BionicBookWorm, where each week they give you a topic and you talk about 5 books that fit that category.
Without any further ado, let’s start with this week’s topic!
Leigh Bardugo
My thoughts: Oh, c’mon, you already saw that coming. And I’m pretty sure it’s not only mine but a favourite author of a mayority of people. And that’s because her books are freaking amazing. She’s a very talented writer, and really good at creating plots and character driven stories, and let’s be honest, she has diverse (and incredible) characters in her stories, so extra kudos to that. I’d read anything she writes: short stories about puppies, books in the Grisha world and whatever she comes up with.
Colleen Hoover
My thoughts: Despite having a couple of books that I haven’t enjoyed much about her, I have to say she’s still an auto-buy author to me. Yes, some of her books are problematic, but she has also great angsty stories, and I really enjoy her writing, so I’m still going to be reading everything she’s going to publish.
Maggie Stiefvater
My thoughts: I STILL HAVE TO READ ALL THE CROOKED SAINTS, don’t kill me for that guys! However, I’ve read a few of her books and I really enjoyed them. Well, most of them, okay? Still, I love the stories she comes up with and how weird and whimsical they are, and despite them being a bit slow sometimes, they are very character driven and at one point or another you start to love all those characters, so yup. Very excited for her Ronan trilogy, though!
Victoria Schwab
My thoughts: Another popular author, I believe. I love Victoria Schwab’s books. She’s a recent beloved author of mine; I started reading her books either at the beginning of this year or last year, and I cannot stop talking about how good they are and how an incredible author she is. She’s so great at creating antiheros or villains, and her writing is so unique and fits all her stories so well I’m blown away. Anyways, definitely will be buying EVERYTHING she plans to publish.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes
My thoughts: I’m almost 100% sure I’ve read more than 7 books by Jennifer Lynn Barnes this year, and I have given them all either 4.5 or 5 starts. That’s how much I adored them. I very much enjoyed how deep and different her stories are from your typical YA contemporary books, and I appreciate her twists and turns in every story she writes and the path the story takes. I’m pretty sure she’s going to be publishing a book in 2018, so I’ll definitely will be reading it!

So glad you could join this month!! I hope that things are better for you than they were last month. I LOVE your list and love how you formatted it with the pics of the book beside the author 🙂 And Maggie Stiefvater always looks so bad ass!

These are some amazing authors, but I can’t say that any of them are auto-buy authors because I haven’t read enough by them yet.

I haven’t read all of each author’s books, but they have become auto-buy authors because I either love the writing style or the stories the create, so that’s why I added them to this list. But I understand everyone’s lists and reasons are different!😀

These are great authors! I have read some of them! I wish I could auto-buy authors. I am so picky with book plots though, LOL.

Yes! I fell in love with her writing and characters. She tends to write very deep anti-heroes, and I’m all about that! I think she’s going to write a book about a girl who sells her soul to the devil (??)
