TOP 5 TUESDAY, Young Adult

Authors I Want To Meet | T5T

Hello bookworms! I’m Nia and today I’m going to be talking about some authors I’d love to meet in person one day!

Now I’ve never given much thought to this particular topic, I don’t know why. I’ve often thought about meeting some of my favorite authors in person so I can chat with them and gush about their books, and frankly, learn more stuff about their writing methods and everything.

If you aren’t familiar with Top 5 Tuesday, it is a group here on WordPress now currently run by Shanah over at BionicBookWorm, where each week they give you a topic and you talk about 5 books that fit that category.

Without any further ado, let’s start with this week’s topic!

Leigh Bardugo

My thoughts: Okay, it’d be awesome if I meet Leigh Bardugo one day. Not only she’s one of my favorite authors, but also she’s a pretty cool woman and I’d love to have a chat with her and talk about not only her books, but other amazing things. I’d read anything that she writes at this point of my life, I don’t care if it’s about a cat sleeping or a badass main character, I’ll take anything!

Maggie Stiefvater

My thoughts: Everyone that have met Maggie Stiefvater have said that she is a very hilarious woman, and since I’ve loved The Raven Boys and The Scorpio Races that much, I’d be so pump to meet her one day and chat with her.

Victoria Schwab

My thoughts: Who doesn’t want to meet Victoria Schwab?? That’s the question. I have a feeling she’s going to appear in a lot of posts, because she is a really amazing and cool person. I follow her on social medias and she’s hilarious. Not only I love her books, but I think she has an amazing personality, and it’d be a pleasure to meet her someday.

Tahereh Mafi

img_2526My thoughts: I love Tahereh Mafi. Shatter Me is one of the first trilogies I’ve read when I first started reading YA, and I completely fell in love with the story, the characters and Tahere’s writing (can you believe Restore Me is coming out this month???). She has another books out that I own but haven’t read, but I still would love to meet her one day!

Anna- Marie McLemore

img_2686My thoughts: This one is a recent favorite author of mine, because until this previous year I hadn’t read anything about her, and she has a very whimsical way to tell a story. I’ve only read Wild Beauty and a short story she wrote for The Radical Element, but I adored both novels so much that I want to read basically everything she writes. I believe she only has magical realism books out, but nonetheless, it’d be amazing to have a chat with her and meet her in person.

What authors would you like to meet? Have you met in person any of the ones I’ve mentioned above? If so, let me know your experience!

  1. I’ve only met Victoria Schwab from your list. I went to her AGOS tour. She was so nice and I was so anxious. I ended up talking about my love for Vicious. I was so awkward. 😂

    1. Ahh you’re so lucky! I feel you! I think I would be the same, but don’t worry about that and think instead about how amazing that experience was!

  2. Ah yes, I personally don’t often meet authors (but, I have met Meagan Spooner & Amie Kaufman) but I think meeting Tahereh Mafi would be absolutely fantastic! She has such a fun fashion sense and such a brilliant personality that it would be so cool to meet her!

  3. I’ve actually met three out of five of these authors! I went to see Maggie Stiefvater at Bookcon, and I just met her again last night! She’s very funny in real life and so nice! I also met Leigh Bardugo at Bookcon, and she was the absolute sweetest; I wish I could have talked to her more, but there were other people in line. 😂 And I met V. E. Schwab a couple years back (the second author I ever met), and she was so nice to talk to despite me being anxious and nervous. 😭 I hope you get to meet all of them someday! ❤️
