Favorite SFF Creatures | T5W

Hello bookworms! I’m Nia and today I’m going to be talking about my favorite fantasy or sci-fi creatures.

Okay, this is one of my favorite topics, because I love fantasy and mythological creatures, and they are part of the reason why I decide to read a book in the first place.

If you aren’t familiar with Top 5 Wednesday, it is a Goodeads group now currently run by Sam over at ToughtsOfTomes on Youtube, where each week they give you a topic and you talk about 5 books that fit that category. You can join the group here if you want to participate!

Without any further ado, let’s start with this week’s topic!

I cannot help but get a bit more excited when I know a book has dragons in it. They are just so cool and interesting creatures, and I feel there is a wide variety of them and how they are created, so it’s always super interesting to read a book about them because there’s always something new.

Unicorns

I have to say that I haven’t come across many unicorns in fantasy, but I just adore those creatures. They are just so pure and kind and I love what they represent, and I think a book with unicorns in them would be very interesting to read.

Sirens

Okay, I admit it: I’m a sucker for anything with either mermaids or sirens in it. They are probably my favorite magical/mythological creatures, and even though there are only a couple of books about them that I can say that I’m still on the hunt for more books about sirens.

Hippogriff

To be honest, the main reason why I love hippogriffs that much would have to be Buckpeak from Harry Potter, and even though he’s a very important focus on one of the films and books only, I still love him so much.

Witches

Okay, I don’t know if this technically counts because they aren’t exactly creatures, but I still wanted to mention them because I love me a good witchy book. I have to say that most of the books I’ve read about witches haven’t been my cup of tea, but I’m not giving up, and I’m going to find a perfect witchy book for me.
