April is finally over!! And I have to say even though this last week I read hardly anything, the other part of the month was pretty awesome. I read 15 books, two of them were re-reads. So yeah, I’m super happy with my reading month.
Without any further ado, let’s start with my wrap-up!
Side note: If you see RTC in any of those books, that means I’m going to post a review very soon where I talk more in depth about my opinion of this book.
The Valiant | Lesley Livingston
*RTC* but I have to say I really enjoyed this book! It was so addicting and I really liked the setting and the badass main character. Also it has a great friendship (even though it’s not fully developed) and the romance was so good!
Hunted | Meagan Spooner
I already posted a review of this book that you can read here if you want to know my thoughts about it, but if you love retellings, slow-burning romance and russian folklore you need to pick this book up!
The Silver Swan | Amo Jones
I’m so sad I didn’t like this book, because it had amazing reviews on Goodreads and Amazon and I was super excited to read it but.. it was a miss for me.
The characters were so hot and cold, and incoherent. They were contradicting themselves ALL the time, and they were so plain and annoying. Also it has one of the most toxic romances (if you can even call it romance) I’ve ever read in my life. Definitely that was a NO to me.
So even though the premise sounded like something I would enjoy and there were some things I actually liked… I ended up giving this book 2 stars.
A Court of Mist And Fury | Sarah J. Maas
You can read the full review here if you want to know my thoughts. This was a re-read to me in anticipation for ACOWAR and let me tell you I LOVED IT EVEN MORE THE SECOND TIME.
The Lovely Reckless | Kami Garcia
This was an okay read to me. I really thought this was going to be a cool, street racing book but booy it was definitely not. There’s only like 2 races. So I was a little disappointed about that.
It had a trope I really like reading and it had some things I enjoyed, along with really cool side characters, but one thing that made me lower my ranting was how incredibly annoying the main character was sometimes. But overall it was a decent read and I gave it 3 stars.
Daughter of The Pirate King | Tricia Levenseller
Okay this book was so good! The only reason why I picked it up was PIRATES. That’s all I needed to know!
It reminded me a littoe bit of Pirates of The Caribbean and those fights and rivaltries of pirate’s ships and I loved that. Also the interactions between our main character and her “love interest”, they were so funny and entertaining.
Illuminae | Amy Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
The Selection | Kiera Cass
This was a re-read because I’ve been wanting to finish this trilogy for AGES but I’m the worst when it comes to finish series. So I decided to marathon the three books and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
The story itself is nothing out of this world, but IT’S SO ADDICTING. I read all three books in two days. I loved the romance, and most of all I adored Maxon. America was so annoying, especially in the second book, but in the last installment she grew on me a bit.
The Elite | Kiera Cass
The One | Kiera Cass
European Tour | L. V. Lewis
I got an ARC of this book and I decided to pick it up because it was NA contemporary (which I read REALLY fast). It was okay, but nothing memorable. It definitely was fast, because the book had I believe 200 pages or so, and I enjoyed the romance.
He Will Be My Ruin | K. A. Tucker
This was a mystery/thriller book so I don’t really want to talk much about it to keep it spoiler free and not give anything away, but I liked it so much! It kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting to see what happened next and who was the killer. The author did a good job to make you suspect of everyone, and there were so unexpected things I didn’t see coming.
Stray | Rachel Vincent
This book was SO good even though it was almost 600 pages! First, the idea of the werecats was so original (I’ve never read a book about werecats before). I really loved the main character and her interactions with her clan, and all clan society related. It was actually a very fast read, and I was in a reading slump by that time so that was perfect! I’m super excited to read the sequel.
Ice Like Fire | Sara Raasch
You can see the full review here if you want to know my thoughts abiut this book!
The Upside of Unrequited | Becky Albertalli
This was a super cute, diverse read and actually I found the protagonist very relatable.
I really loved Becky’s writing, and I adored Molly’s sister and her girlfriend. I had minor problems with Molly, the main character and that’s why I lower my ranting. However I totally recommend this book if you’re looking for a light, fast-pace contemporary.
What books have you read in April and what is the one you’ve enjoyed the most?
PS: If you would like me to do a review of any of the books I haven’t done or marked with RTC, please let me know and I’ll definitely do them!😊
